Every year on 21st March, we come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day officially recognized by the United Nations since 2012. This special day aims to foster understanding and support for individuals with Down syndrome.

You might wonder why 21st March was chosen for this important day. The date, the 21st day of the 3rd month, symbolizes the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome, which is the genetic cause of Down syndrome.
