Thursday 6th August 2026 celebrates Jeans for Genes Day. A day that Australians come together to show their support and raise much needed funds and awareness for children facing birth defects and genetic diseases.

Did you know:
1 in 20 children face a birth defect or genetic disease, many being told they are “incurable”
The children’s medical research institute was established in 1958 and was the countries first dedicated paediatric research organisation
Australia first launched the Jeans for Genes Day campaign in 1994
In the time that the research institute has been operating and Jeans for Genes Day campaign has been raising funds, they have raised over $71 million for medical research.
